This project investigates how membrane proteins in Escherichia coli dynamically organize and interact within the inner membrane. By using advanced imaging techniques, it aims to understand the effects of various stressors on protein domain behavior, contributing to our knowledge of bacterial functions and interactions.
Membrane proteins govern how bacteria inside the human body, animals, plants, water sources or soil interact with their environment.
Membrane proteins show intricate spatial organization and can be compartmentalized in the membrane, but it is unknown how they dynamically assemble and vanish from membrane domains.
