This project focuses on developing advanced carbon nanomaterials for creating biocompatible interfaces that connect with neural cells. The goal is to enhance neuroprosthetics by enabling direct intracellular communication, improving motor and sensory functions in devices like prosthetics.
The main goal of this proposal is to bring novel technology of biocompatible, low bio-fouling, high electrochemical performance carbon nanomaterials to in-vivo preclinical applications and at the same time to use this materials to develop a highly advanced concept of intimate intracellular contact, based on bottom - up technology of, engulfing the micro-electrode by neural cells.
