META-BRAIN aims to develop a human-based laboratory model to study how cancer spreads to the brain. It focuses on understanding the role of the blood-brain barrier and developing new drug delivery systems to treat brain metastases effectively.
Brain metastases have a poor prognosis and are associated with a high morbidity and mortality rate in cancer patients.
