This research aims to develop a non-invasive method for monitoring intracranial pressure, a critical factor in neurosurgery. The project involves measuring the properties of skull and brain tissue, creating a computational model, and establishing a real-time monitoring system.
The most common cause of death in neurosurgical patients is raised intracranial pressure and therefore it is essential that accurate monitoring of this pressure is undertaken clinically.
Currently there are no non-invasive methods available.
The overall aim of this research proposal is to develop a novel method for monitoring intracranial pressure.
