This project explores the intercultural competence of migrant descendants in the UK and Italy, examining their perceptions and the perspectives of employers. It aims to identify factors that enhance or hinder their integration into the workforce, providing recommendations for better utilization of their skills.
Migrant descendants (MD) represent an increasingly important share of the European workforce.
Their multiple cultural belonging offers potential to develop intercultural competence (IC), a vital asset in contemporary labour markets.
Surprisingly, neither migration studies nor literature on IC has ever examined this potential.
