MIGRACAST investigates the ecological and evolutionary factors influencing bird migration patterns. By developing a novel modeling framework, the project aims to analyze how energy efficiency and historical biogeography shape the migratory behaviors of North American bird species.
Understanding why birds migrate is a long-standing problem that still largely eludes scientists.
