This project aims to develop advanced Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging methods to measure neurotransmitter dynamics across the brain. By overcoming current limitations, it seeks to enable the simultaneous mapping of neurochemical changes during complex behaviors, enhancing our understanding of brain function.
Human cognition relies on finely tuned chemical signalling across distributed brain networks.
Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) is the only non-invasive method for quantifying neurotransmitters, such as glutamate or gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
