This project explores the use of femtosecond laser Optotransfection to introduce microRNAs into stem cells, aiming to reprogram them into cardiac progenitor cells. It combines robotics and data management to enhance high-throughput experiments for heart disease therapies.
Considerable focus has been placed on the influence of endogenous and exogenous interfering RNA on stem cell differentiation and behavior and substantial effort to elucidate the potential of reprogramming stem cells to guide of them towards a cardiomyogenic phenotype as a therapeutic option for heart disease.
