This project develops a nanoscale characterization platform to enhance the design of complex materials like solar cells and semiconductors. By integrating advanced measurement techniques, it aims to improve the understanding of material properties and accelerate the production of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells.
Products which require complicated material systems and nanoscale structural organization, e.g. third-generation solar cells, are often difficult to develop.
This is because electronic properties of bulk semiconductors are often masked or at least strongly superimposed by material interface properties.
