This research focuses on understanding the properties of a novel oxide system that exhibits significant oxygen storage capacity at low temperatures. By studying the structural and ionic transport properties, the project aims to enhance the design of materials for clean energy applications such as fuel cells.
Interfaces between oxides can provide entirely new ways to realize novel properties.
The goal of this research project is to further clarify the fundamental relationships between composition, crystal structure and ionic transport properties in a novel system based on the hexagonal YMnO3 type structure.
