The MODEL2BIO project aims to create a decision-support tool for optimizing the valorization of organic waste from the agri-food industry. It will use predictive models to assess waste composition and recommend the best valorization methods.
Agri-food industry generates nearly 50% of the average composition of global waste in form of organic residual stream.
Current management practices for waste management, including landfilling as the worst option, have to be improved to fulfil the targets of the EU.
