This project aims to reconstitute essential cellular functions by manipulating cytoskeletal networks in artificial model cells. It combines cell biology, biochemistry, and biophysics to understand microtubule dynamics and their role in cell organization, division, and migration.
A hallmark of profound understanding of the organization of a living cell is the ability to reconstitute essential cellular functionalities from minimal components.
To achieve this breakthrough a concerted effort of cell biology, biochemistry and biophysics is required.
