The MODERN project focuses on enhancing integrated circuit design to address challenges posed by process variations in nanoCMOS technology. It aims to develop advanced models and design methods to improve reliability and performance while reducing costs in manufacturing complex electronic products.
The influence of process variations is becoming extremely critical for nanoCMOS technology nodes, due to geometric tolerances and manufacturing non-idealities (such as edge or surface roughness, or the fluctuation of the number of doping atoms).
