This project explores the interaction of light with rapidly changing media, focusing on phenomena such as light amplification and frequency shifting. By manipulating the refractive index, researchers aim to uncover new effects in laser physics and quantum optics.
The interaction of light with matter is traditionally studied in media that are either still or moving at a negligible fraction of the speed of light.
