The project aims to create materials that can change shape by amplifying molecular movements. By integrating molecular machines with liquid crystals, it seeks to develop systems that exhibit dynamic shape transformations, potentially leading to new applications in artificial tissues.
The sophistication reached by organic chemistry has enabled the design and synthesis of a wide range of dynamic molecules that display controlled shape changes with an ever-increasing refinement.
