This project investigates the central nervous system's activity in a new preclinical model of migraine using magnetic resonance imaging and immunohistochemistry. It aims to understand migraine mechanisms and assess how anti-migraine drugs influence brain activity and behavior.
This application is being submitted by Dr Milena De Felice of the University of Arizona (researcher), and Professor Fiona Boissonade of the University of Sheffield (scientist-in-charge and supervisor), who have complementary expertise in different aspects of trigeminal pain.
The project will be co-supervised by Dr Aneurin Kennerley, the lead physicist in the University of Sheffield's preclinical MRI facility.
