This project aims to enhance the understanding of spintronics by developing a new theoretical framework for Ballistic Electron Emission Microscopy. It focuses on the transport properties of electrons in magnetic and semiconductor interfaces, which are crucial for future electronic devices.
Spintronics is now a major challenge at the international level with the prospect of manipulating, storing and transporting the electron spin in semiconductors.
This will lead to a whole new family of much faster devices, working at low power, including programmable spin transistors.
