This project develops microfluidic platforms to study cell behavior in response to environmental changes, focusing on Sickle Cell Anemia and cell motility in three-dimensional spaces. It aims to create integrated lab-on-a-chip devices for biological research.
There exist very few techniques for studying a group of cells containinga large number compared to a single cell but small compared to a wholetissue.
This implies that statistics are exceedingly difficult to obtainfrom measurements of individual cells.
