MULTIFUNSOME seeks to enhance treatment for triple negative breast cancer by using a targeted drug delivery system. It combines an anti-Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor antibody with thermoresponsive liposomes to deliver chemotherapy and magnetic nanoparticles for improved therapeutic efficacy.
In Europe, breast cancer is by far the most important cause of cancer death among women.
In particular, triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive histological subtype with limited treatment options and associated with poorer prognosis than other breast cancer subtypes.
