IPSIRIUS aims to develop innovative cancer immunotherapy using induced pluripotent stem cell technology. Their product, IPVAC, targets cancer stem cells and aims to enhance patient immune responses against various cancers, offering a scalable and safe treatment option.
The successful application of immune checkpoints inhibitors has modified the therapeutic strategies in several cancers but only 30% of patients will respond optimally to these therapies.
One of the reasons for the failure of these therapies is the resistance of cancer stem cells (CSCs) leading to relapses long after the initial treatment.
These cells are also resistant to conventional therapies via their quiescence and there are no targeted therapies available against them.
