This project focuses on the MYC oncogene, developing Omomyc, a mini-protein that inhibits MYC and has completed a Phase Ia clinical trial. It aims to enhance therapeutic applications and research on MYC biology, particularly in brain cancers and in combination with personalized medicine.
Even though the MYC oncogene is a “most-wanted” target in cancer therapy, no MYC inhibitor has yet reached clinical approval.
The applicant has developed Omomyc, the first MYC-inhibiting mini-protein to have successfully completed a Phase Ia clinical trial.
