The nanoCARBS project focuses on developing advanced catalysts for producing liquid fuels and chemicals from biomass. By utilizing Atomic Layer Deposition techniques, it aims to create nanostructured catalysts that enhance performance while minimizing the use of scarce materials.
The introduction of biomass-derived feedstocks for the production of liquid fuels and chemicals brings new challenges to the chemical industry: the conventional heterogeneous catalysts used in past petrochemical operations often cannot be adopted.
