This project examines the impact of neighborhood characteristics on individual life outcomes, particularly in relation to poverty and social mobility. It aims to explore the mechanisms behind neighborhood effects and how they influence personal development over time.
There is a strong belief among academics and policy makers that living in deprived neighbourhoods has a negative effect on residents’ life chances over and above the effect of their individual characteristics: so-called neighbourhood effects.
