This project focuses on developing novel cyclic peptides using macrocyclases, enzymes that can create complex peptide structures. By exploring these peptides' potential in drug discovery, the project aims to enhance therapeutic options by creating diverse molecular libraries.
Most of our drugs derive from natural products, many more natural products possess biological activity but our inability to synthesise novel analogues hampers our ability to use them either as tools or medicines.
