This project explores the generation of ultra-high-speed micro-jets from vapor bubbles created by laser pulses in a liquid-filled micro-capillary. These micro-jets, reaching supersonic speeds, have potential applications in needle-free drug and vaccine delivery for humans and animals.
When focusing a laser pulse in a liquid, a vapor bubble can instantaneously (< 1μs) be produced.We have generated such vapor bubbles in a liquid-filled coated micro-capillary (diameter≈ 50μm).
