The NEO project aims to explore the genetic and cultural history of Neolithic populations in France using ancient DNA analysis. By combining various scientific methods, it seeks to uncover migration patterns, health, and dietary practices of these early societies.
The genetic landscape of Europe has been extremely dynamic through time, in particular during the Neolithic transitions, and is thus difficult to redraw from the analysis of present-day populations only.
