The NEPTUNE project focuses on developing a new type of ion source that can extract both positive and negative charged particles from low-temperature plasma. This technology aims to enhance our understanding of particle interactions and improve applications in fields such as space exploration and nanotechnology.
The main goal of the proposed NEPTUNE project (“New generation of ion sources: from deep space missions to upstream nano-technologies”) is to enhance the understanding of the physics and exploit the benefits of bipolar charged particle extraction from low temperature plasma.
The first NEPTUNE prototype will be built and tested during the project implementation.
