This project explores how social networks influence economic interactions and outcomes. It examines mechanisms such as borrowing, peer effects, information aggregation, and favoritism through field experiments, aiming to understand their impact on economic allocations and productivity.
Social networks affect many economic interactions, and the social capital embedded in them may help explain broad, macro level outcomes. A recent theory literature develops models of economic allocations in networks.
