This project explores the role of DNA double-strand breaks in cognitive deficits associated with neurodegenerative diseases and central nervous system infections. It aims to uncover how these breaks affect neuronal function and contribute to behavioral impairments.
Cognitive deficits are manifested several years prior detecting any neuronal loss in neurodegenerative diseases or during persistent infections of the central nervous system (CNS).
