This project investigates the neurobiological mechanisms of pain modulation, focusing on both pain reduction and amplification. Using advanced imaging techniques, it aims to understand how brain and spinal cord interactions influence chronic pain, providing insights that could improve treatment strategies.
Chronic pain is one of the largest medical health problems in Europe, affecting about 20% of all adults.
