This project investigates how specific areas of the medial prefrontal cortex regulate fear responses in animals. By combining advanced techniques, it aims to understand the neuronal circuits involved in fear expression and inhibition, which is crucial for survival and decision-making in threatening situations.
Accurate adaptation to stimuli predicting threatening outcome is critical to survival.
