The NoO2 project aims to enhance the conversion of landfill gas into renewable energy by developing a technology to remove oxygen from the gas mixture. This innovation targets the efficient upgrading of landfill biogas, making it a viable alternative to natural gas for energy production.
European policy targets to increase the utilization of renewable energy sources.

Although agriculture and waste water are the main sources of biogas, landfills, collecting municipal waste, have huge potential, too.
There are about 3000 landfills operating in the EU, accepting ~100 million tons of municipal waste per year.
