This project aims to identify and characterize new regulators influencing normal blood cell formation and leukemia. It employs advanced genetic screening techniques in both laboratory and animal models to uncover potential oncogenes and tumor suppressors associated with acute myeloid leukemia.
Leukemic cells, similar to other types of cancer cells, are characterized by aberrant epigenetic changes, which often lead to abnormal expression of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.
