The project by Labrida aims to tackle peri-implant diseases in dentistry through a patented maintenance device called BioClean. This device uses bioresorbable bristles made from chitosan fibers to provide a safer and more effective non-surgical treatment for patients suffering from these conditions.
Peri-implant disease (Mucositis and peri-implantitis) is a major and growing clinical problem in odontology, affecting 20-40mill. patients in Europe, and the double worldwide.
