The project explores the potential for existing Nuclear Power Plants to produce hydrogen, supporting the EU's climate neutrality goals by 2050. It focuses on assessing technical and economic feasibility, developing pilot project configurations, and identifying suitable sites for implementation by 2025.
The objective of this proposal is to investigate the feasibility and viability for existing Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) to generate large amounts of hydrogen for supporting the decarbonisation goals of the EU- as the EU aims to be climate-neutral by 2050.
Moreover, this feasibility study aims to prepare the realization of nuclear hydrogen generation projects in the short term (2025).
