The NRG-5 project develops a software framework tailored for the energy sector to leverage 5G technology. It addresses the diverse requirements of energy utilities, aiming to enhance communication efficiency, security, and scalability in managing electricity and gas distribution networks.
Despite a number of software frameworks and reference architectures have made available for 5G enabling technologies, there is a clear gap to bridge towards 5G seamless application with a number of “vertical” sectors.
