This project investigates the role of actin in the organization of the cell nucleus, focusing on its biological significance and molecular mechanisms. It aims to manipulate nuclear actin levels to understand its impact on gene expression and nuclear processes.
Unlike previously thought the nucleus is a highly compartmentalized organelle.
Both the genome and processes associated with it show non-random distribution within the nucleus.
This compartmentalization has a fundamental impact on nuclear processes.
