This project develops a novel method for attaching targeting ligands to nanocarriers for cancer drug delivery. By enhancing the interaction between drugs and cancer cells, it aims to improve treatment efficacy while reducing side effects, potentially transforming drug delivery and diagnostics.
Current clinically approved drug delivery systems, such as liposome, PEGylated liposome, and polymeric micelle, predominantly rely on passive accumulation within tumor tissues by diffusion through the defective tumor vessels during circulation.
