The project aims to improve three-dimensional flow measurements using Holographic Particle Image Velocimetry techniques. By applying Optical Diffraction Tomography, it seeks to enhance measurement accuracy in complex fluid dynamics scenarios, particularly in aneurysm models.
Holographic Particle Image Velocimetry (HPIV) has been used successfully to make three-dimensional (3D), three-component (3C) flow measurements from holographic recordings of a seeded fluid.
It is clear that measurements can only be made in regions that contain particles, but simply adding more seeding results in poor quality images due to the effects of multiple scattering.
