This project explores the interaction between light and sound at the quantum level using semiconductor nanostructures. It focuses on a single quantum dot within a microcavity to investigate photon-phonon interactions, aiming to advance the understanding of optomechanics and its applications in quantum technologies.
The project bridges the gap between two yet distinct research fields: optomechanics of deformable cavities (cavity optomechanics) and cavity quantum electrodynamics (cavity QED).
This project aims at exploring a hybrid interface between these two domains, using semiconductor nanostructures.
