This project investigates urine metabolite profiles to identify risk factors for type 2 diabetes and thyroid disease. By leveraging population-based research in Denmark, it aims to uncover genetic determinants and enhance risk prediction through non-invasive metabolomics.
Metabolomics is a relatively new technology that provides information about levels of human metabolites, the low molecule products at the end (downstream) of the metabolic pathways of human physiology.
