ORDERin1D explores the use of carbon nanotubes for studying molecular transport and creating advanced materials. By characterizing how molecules fill and align within these nanotubes, the project aims to develop highly selective membranes and sensors for nanotechnology applications.
The hollow structure of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with a wide range of diameters forms an ideal one-dimensional host system to study restricted diameter-dependent molecular transport and to achieve unique polar molecular order.
