OTTOHAJJ explores the experiences of Ottoman pilgrims traveling to Mecca and Medina from 1517 to 1800. The project analyzes historical guidebooks and other sources to understand the social, cultural, and ecological aspects of pilgrimage during the Ottoman Empire.
