This project investigates insect resistance to pesticides by studying cytochrome P450 enzymes. It aims to identify molecular changes that confer resistance and develop tools for managing pesticide resistance in agricultural practices.
Insect resistance to synthetic insecticides and the anti-herbivore defence chemicals produced by many plants is an ongoing challenge to sustainable pest management while also an exceptional model system to study adaptive evolution.
