This project aims to develop targeted therapies for pancreatic cancer by studying cancer stem cells. It focuses on understanding their resistance to chemotherapy and their role in tumor growth and metastasis, with the goal of identifying new treatment strategies to eliminate these cells.
Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is the deadliest solid cancer and currently the fourth most frequent cause for cancer related deaths.
Over the past decades, there has hardly been any substantial therapeutic progress regarding clinical endpoints.
