This project examines the connection between populist movements and conspiracy theories across various countries. It employs discourse analysis and ethnographic methods to understand how these theories influence political dynamics and party membership, aiming to shed light on their implications for democracy.
The last two decades have seen the rise of populist movements and parties in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
Over the same period, conspiracy theories have also significantly gained in visibility and impact.
