The Papyrus project aims to create a Cross-Discipline Digital Library Engine that connects content from different fields. It will allow users to query information from one discipline and receive relevant results from another, enhancing access to knowledge across domains.
Past and existing efforts for digital recapturing and preservation of European cultural and scientific heritage have consumed significant effort and resources for the digitisation, characterisation, and classification of content.
Digital libraries have thus emerged providing electronic access for many communities of users to available information of their discipline.
