This project critically reassesses the influence of ancient thought on European identity by comparing phenomenological perspectives with classical studies. It explores how ancient culture interacts with modern European identity and its implications for the future.
Phenomenological thinkers (most notably E.
Husserl, M.
Heidegger, J.
Patočka, and J.
Derrida) outlined influentialphilosophical perspectives on the ancient roots of European thought.
The action’s aim is to provide a critical reassessment ofthose perspectives by developing an extensive comparative analysis between them and research done by prominentclassicists, in particular W.
Jaeger, B.
Snell, J.-P.
Vernant, G.E.R.
Lloyd, and M.
West.
