The PICaboo project focuses on developing advanced photonic integrated circuits to enhance the performance of optical networks. By creating compact models and libraries, it aims to improve speed, reduce power consumption, and lower costs for applications in 5G and Internet of Things environments.
Cloud applications, 5G and IoT are pushing modern networks over the edge to satisfy the stringent high capacity and low latency demands.
Photonic integration is a key enabling technology to tackle the new challenges and to bring new products and services to the market.
