The PILOW project explores the intimacy and sexuality of Black older women in South Africa, focusing on their experiences and relationships. It involves these women in the research process to challenge stereotypes and understand how family and social institutions shape their intimate lives.
The PILOW project critically investigates the intimacy, sexuality, and relationships of Black older women (50+) in contemporary South Africa, a demographic often overlooked in both feminist and decolonial agendas.
